http://www.hawabecedaire.org est un tout nouveau projet proposé par le Studio XX qui s’adresse aux femmes originaires du Maghreb et vivant à Montréal. Il s’agit d’un atelier autour d’un projet Web, grâce auquel nous voulons tisser des liens entre des paroles de femmes qui vivent sur trois continents : ici à Montréal, à Marseille et Paris (France) et à Alger (Algérie).

Conçu par un groupe de femmes maghrébines de Marseille, HAWA poursuit sa route à Montréal. Le projet se déroule sous forme d’un atelier dans lequel un abécédaire sera élaboré. Présenté comme un blogue, les participantes pourront exprimer de façon libre, publier et partager sur Internet leurs idées, leurs réflexions ou encore leurs coups de gueule ou leurs petits bonheurs. Ce contexte va aussi permettre d’aborder des questions sensibles et d’en explorer les différentes approches en fonction du contexte de vie des participantes.

Cet atelier propose tout autant une introduction à la pratique du son qu’un apprentissage au logiciel libre SPIP. L’atelier consistera à une présentation sommaire de cet outil, permettant la prise en main d’un site dynamique de manière aisée aux non-spécialistes.

Pour cet atelier, nous recherchons :

1/ Des femmes qui auraient envie d’acquérir de nouvelles habiletés techniques. Nous offrons une introduction aux techniques d’enregistrement du son et de montage audio et parallèlement une introduction au logiciel SPIP (système de publication de contenu pour l’Internet).

2/ Des femmes de tout âge qui auraient envie de nous confier des éléments de leur parcours, émettre un commentaire ou de donner leur opinion sur un sujet qui leur est cher.
Nous aimerions vous rencontrer soit individuellement, soit en groupe ou encore lors d’une rencontre entre amies.

http://www.hawabecedaire.org is a brand-new project proposed by Studio XX, addressed to women originally from Maghreb and currently living in Montreal. It is a workshop conceived around a Web project, which allows us to create bonds between the words of women living on three continents: here in Montreal, in Marseille and Paris (France), and in Algiers (Algeria).

Conceived by a group of North African women from Marseille, HAWA moves on to Montreal. The focus of the project will be to elaborate an alphabet primer. Presented as a blog, the participants will be able to express themselves in an open fashion, publish and share their thoughts and reflections on the Internet, vent their concerns or confide their joys. This context will also allow the participants to tackle sensitive subject matter and to explore the different approaches reflecting the life situations of the participants.

This workshop is as much an introduction to sound practices as an apprenticeship of the open source software SPIP, a tool that non-specialists can use to easily manage a dynamic (interactive) Web site.

For this workshop, we are looking for:

1/ Women who would like to acquire new technical skills. We are providing an introduction to sound recording and audio montage, alongside an introduction to the SPIP software (System for Shared Internet Publishing).

AVAILABILITY REQUIRED : 4 TO 6 HALF DAYS

2/ Women of all ages who feel like sharing elements of their lives, expressing an opinion or commenting on subject matter that is dear to them. We would like to meet with you either individually or as a group, with new or old friends.

AVAILABILITY REQUIRED : a few hours in the afternoon

SCHEDULED TIME: from May 13 to May 24, 2006
PLACE: Studio XX (338, terrasse Saint-Denis in Montreal) or elsewhere outside the Studio.
