Traditionnellement, on écoutait la radio par la voie des ondes, alors que le téléphone était câblé. Depuis peu le téléphone s'est affranchi, alors que la radio est maintenant câblée, conséquence de l'attribution et la réglementation d'usages à certaines plages du spectre de radiofréquence. Mais comme les bandes ISM (industriel, scientifique et médical) ne sont pas soumises à des réglementations nationales, elles peuvent être utilisées librement.

Ce séminaire fera la clarté sur quelques principes de physique et de codage d’information. Il se penchera aussi sur les champs d’application des ondes radio en association avec le réseau Internet. Question de se créer un espace de création sans fils à pattes...

Wireless Technologies: from principles to applications in media arts

Traditionally people listened to the radio via the sound waves whereas the telephone was cabled. Recently the telephone has freed itself whereas radio is now cabled, a result of attributing and regulating the use of certain bands of the radio frequency spectrum. But since the ISM bands (industrial, scientific and medical) are not regulated nationally, they can be used freely.

This seminar will untangle a few principles of physics and information coding. It will also delve on the applications of radio waves associated with the Internet. As a way of making for yourself a creative space no strings attached.
