OBORO et la Fondation Daniel Langlois pour l'art, la science et la
technologie vous invitent à la présentation de Ring of Blue, un
projet-prototype de Surajit Sarkar créé lors de sa résidence.
« Ring of Blue est une exposition interactive et portable concue pour
le « Catapult Arts Caravan » dans l'Inde rurale. Ce projet combine le
documentaire à l'histoire, la géographie et l'expression culturelle
du peuple en articulant leurs relations entre l'eau et leur

Cette résidence a été réalisé grâce au partenariat entre OBORO et la
Fondation Daniel Langlois pour l'art, la science et la technologie,
Programme de résidences de recherche et d'expérimentation à Montréal
pour les artistes professionnels des pays en émergence.
Surajit Sarkar (New Delhi, Inde) fut vendeur de photocopieurs,
banquier et professeur à l'école primaire. Il a travaillé comme
vidéaste et cinéaste depuis 1991 et a reçu des prix nationaux et
internationaux pour ses documentaires. Vidéaste pour des productions
de théâtre et de danse, il est membre fondateur du « Catapult Arts
Caravan », un groupe d'art itinérant qui travaille avec les artistes
des communautés rurales de l'Inde.

OBORO and the Daniel Langlois Foundation for art, science and
technology invite you to a presentation of Ring of Blue by Surajit
Sarkar, a project prototype created while in residence.

This residency was produced through a partnership between the Daniel
Langlois Foundation and OBORO through a program for Research and
Experimentation Residencies in Montreal for Professional Artists from
Emerging Countries or Regions.
Surajit Sarkar (New Delhi, India) was at one time a photocopier
salesman, a bank officer, and primary school teacher. He has worked
as a video and film maker since 1991, and received national and
international awards for documentary. A video artist in theatre and
dance stage productions, he is a founding member of the Catapult Arts
Caravan, a traveling arts group that works with community artists in
rural India.
