Equipment Loan Request
for student project
PRIORITY 3: Student Members whose request is supported by a CIAM Researcher may borrow equipment for periods ranging from one week to several months for use in their own research or for the dissemination of their work.
Students must demonstrate that the requested equipments are essential for the successful completion of their project. An equipment request may not be made more than four months before the equipment will be used. Equipment requests for low equipment value or for a short period of time will generaly be allocated within 48 hours. Equipment requests for a more important equipment value or for a longer period of time will be evaluated and eventualy allocated by a committee gathering once every month.
If the student wishes to use equipment beyond what is available in the CIAM Equipment Pool, he may request the equipment through the Student Allocation Program. CIAM may then approve the purchase of the equipment as part of the student’s allocation, or acquire the new equipment for the equipment pool and charge the student a flat fee that is then deducted from their allocation. In the latter case, equipment remains the property of CIAM.
