Sheridan is looking for outstanding individuals to join
their faculty team. The successful candidate will teach
a range of courses to students in the Interior Design
program in the School of Animation, Arts and Design.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field of study (PhD
preferred); formal studies in adult or higher education
an asset;
- Three to five years relevant professional experience
preferred;
- NCIDQ certification strongly preferred;
- Experience in teaching and curriculum development at
the post secondary level or equivalent experience as
a trainer in business or industry preferred;
- Strong network of contacts with other professionals,
agencies and employers;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrable ability to convey the conceptual and applied
aspects of knowledge to a broad range of students;
- Committed to excellence in teaching and learning and
to working within a team environment.

Shower,
Cosmicomics presents
a fantastical sky animated by a fusion of lunar dreams
inspired by Italo Calvino's eponymous
novel, and by the quantum inflationary cosmology created
by Andre Linde.
A large ceiling-mounted display opens
a window into a fable of a cosmos, filled with liquid
light and sound that dance
to movement, epoch, and the alchemical condition of the
Moon.

La démence des anges. Deux interprètes performeront
simultanément dans deux lieux différents,

L’artiste Serge Roy revisite Lafontaine et ses contes
libertins en 40 tableaux, comme autant de secrets d’alcôve.
Une expo solo qui rince l’oeil et sur laquelle il
fait bon loucher.
Serge Roy organise ses recherches autour d’une fragmentation
de l’espace où idées, images, couleurs,
textures et matériaux se côtoient pour faire
surgir un sens nouveau. Les associations ainsi créées
nous amènent vers des lieux où le médium
se réinvente, dans le monde de l’imaginaire
et de la métaphore.

$ymbolocaust : An Experimental
Play Directed by Alexander Wilson
May 22 to 26, 2007 at 8 p.m.
$ymbolocaust is the conceptual
sequel to our last large-scale theatre production, A
Ship to Namuh, directed by Melanie
Verville, which we presented in 2005. It is an experimental
physical and musical play that addresses the strategies
humans adopt in order to preserve and perpetuate their
subjective structures: strategies of self-preservation.
Following many of Antonin Artaud's proposals for a Theatre
of Cruelty, $ymbolocaust invites the public into an
immersive performance environement, in which the action
happens
all around and between the spectators, and wherever
possible, uses technology to extend the physical, emotional
and
conceptual
aspects of the performance into the show space. Since
there is no spatial division between the public and
the performers,
as there is in traditional theatre, the spectators
are costumed before they enter into the performance space,
to mask their civilian identities and to ensure a common
aesthetic for the play. Evoking the landscape of a
dream,
the atmosphere for the play is dark, hazy and resonant,
and composes elements of reality according to an unkown,

Dans La Médiation de
l’art contemporain, Sylvie
Lacerte examine comment l'accès à l'art,
mais surtout l'accès au sens de l'art fut, dès
les débuts de l'histoire des expositions, empreint
d'une aura de mystère et de secret. Sa démarche
s’inscrit dans un parcours historique amorcé depuis
les cabinets de curiosités
de la Renaissance, jusqu'aux musées, réseaux
virtuels et événements internationaux voués à l’art
contemporain, en passant par la création du musée
public des Lumières.
