FESTIVAL MOIS MULTI 2008
Le Mois Multi a été instauré par
les Productions Recto-Verso en 2000 afin de promouvoir
la diffusion des oeuvres hybrides dont l’approche
de création est souvent associée à la
multidisciplinarité (interdisciplinarité).
L’appel
de projets concerne toutes les compagnies et les artistes
professionnels des arts interdisciplinaires,
des arts électroniques et de toutes formes d’art
où le croisement des disciplines est à la
base de la démarche artistique. La diffusion de
l’œuvre pourrait avoir lieu en février
ou septembre 2008.
L’œuvre proposée peut être de
nature scénique, installatoire, performative ou
de toute autre forme (intérieur ou extérieur).

Design program in the School of Animation, Arts and Design.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field of study (PhD preferred); formal
studies in adult or higher education an asset;
- Three to five years relevant professional experience preferred;
- NCIDQ certification strongly preferred;
- Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post secondary level
or equivalent experience as a trainer in business or industry preferred;
- Strong network of contacts with other professionals, agencies and employers;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrable ability to convey the conceptual and applied aspects of knowledge
to a broad range of students;
- Committed to excellence in teaching and learning and to working within a
team environment.

Creative researchers and theorists, innovative engineers and producers are

Arts & Culture is one of the main fields that
are intimately linked with contemporary concepts and
technologies. Enaction_in_Arts sessions aim at promoting

and to link together observer and character in a radically
new way."

Toni Dove
is an artist/independent producer who works primarily
with electronic media, including virtual
reality, interactive video installations, performance
and DVD ROMs that engage viewers in responsive and
immersive narrative environments. Her work has been
presented in the United States, Europe and Canada as
well as in print and on radio and television.
Her current project under development is Spectropia,
a feature length interactive movie performance for
two players also to be released as a linear feature
film. It previewed as a work in progress at Lincoln
Center in Scanners, the New York Video Festival 2006.
A DVD ROM, Sally or the Bubble Burst, an interactive
scene from the Spectropia project is distributed on
the Cycling '74 label.

(re)-présentation et nouveaux médias.
Sous la direction de George Brown (Bradely University, États-Unis),
Gerd Hauck (Canadian Centre for Arts and Technology, University
of Waterloo, Canada) et Jean-Marc Larrue (Centre de recherche
sur l’intermédialité, Université de
Montréal), ce colloque permettra de considérer

$ymbolocaust : An Experimental
Play Directed by Alexander Wilson
May 22 to 26, 2007 at 8 p.m.
$ymbolocaust is the conceptual sequel to our last large-scale
theatre production, A Ship to Namuh, directed by Melanie
Verville, which we presented in 2005. It is an experimental
physical and musical play that addresses the strategies
humans adopt in order to preserve and perpetuate their
subjective structures: strategies of self-preservation.
Following many of Antonin Artaud's proposals for a Theatre
of Cruelty, $ymbolocaust invites the public into an immersive
performance environement, in which the action happens all
around and between the spectators, and wherever possible,
uses technology to extend the physical, emotional and conceptual
aspects of the performance into the show space. Since there
is no spatial division between the public and the performers,
as there is in traditional theatre, the spectators are
costumed before they enter into the performance space,
to mask their civilian identities and to ensure a common
aesthetic for the play. Evoking the landscape of a dream,
the atmosphere for the play is dark, hazy and resonant,
and composes elements of reality according to an unkown,
mysterious logic.
